Preparing for Chuseok!

For two weeks now the whole of seoul has been preparing for the Chuseok holiday! Chuseok is a major three day holiday, its similar to our thanksgiving. People exchange traditional korean goods and have a big super. My school has been going crazy over the holiday and today when i arrived at school all my little babies were dressed up in traditional korean outfits called Hanbok. They were so adorable,  and were more than willing to pose for a photoshoot! trying to get the boys to sit still and not punch each other was nearly impossible!

Every monday is science class at my kindergarten school, it is usually the best day since it's the only day where the kids pay attention and actually think what we're doing is worth their time. But this monday was different...we had to make our fingerprints...which involved a lot of white power. The kids seemed to think it was much more interesting to throw the power at each other and roll in it...i couldnt have agreed more!

Justin is one of best students! he has the greatest hair and gives the best hugs! Justin is amazing at crowd control, the minute i look upset or tell the kids they are being too loud justin stands up and yells "BE QUIET!!!!", keeping in mind yelling is his normal voice, but for some reason the kids listen to him, and for that i love him!

This saturday is Miss Eagan's birthday, it could not fall on a better weekend, not only is it chuseok but we have four whole days to party and celebrate! Ah how i love long weekends!

Last weekend derek, kristin and i did what all teachers must do on a friday night...drink! its the only thing that keeps us going! We attempted to keep the evening somewhat tame since saturday was our big night...but as always seoul gets the best of us and we end up never keeping our word. We started off at a bar called 300, its literally a cave and you have to crawl up stairs and little balconies to get to your seating, anyone who dislikes small spaces avoid this place! its a really chilled out hippie place with very cheap and verrrry strong long island ice teas! perfect place to start the night!

derek attempting to put of kyoung sup's hat...almost sucess!
