bullets fly...

Last week i had one of those "i love being a teacher" weeks...which come and go frequently. But when i do have those weeks i really appreciate my job and feel so lucky to go into work everyday and teach the most adorable students!....But i always welcome the weekends! This weekend we dedicated friday night to indulging in some delicious indian food, defiantly a nice and welcomed mix up from korean food. Then derek and i headed off to the dongaduem night markets. These markets have floors and floors full of every accessory and clothing you could need. They open at 9pm and go until 3 or 4 am, the blasting K-pop most defiantly tempts you to disregard your plans of a sober friday and go out to celebrate your newest purchases!

Saturday jenn and i decided to get our hair trimmed as a little pick-me-up on a rainy saturday. A little trim turned into me deciding to cut my hair off and go for a korean bob! I'm happy about my decision...and so was the owner of the salon. I figured i needed a new duo to suit my new life here in seoul...and i just want to look more asian! hehe

Today we dragged ourselves out of bed and met for delicious pizza and once again pieced the events of saturday night together as a team. Then we headed off to meet ash and go check out the latest seoul photography exhibit!
Yet again, it was a fabulous weekend, Seoul continues to amaze me and reminds me daily of how much i love calling seoul home!

15000 won...

We have now become regulars at cafe ST.255 in hongdae, the lady who runs this place is so sweet and makes the place so homey. Since it was so cold today we all got into the christmas spirit and headed to cafe st.255 to enjoy some earl gray lattes and piece the events of last night together.

Saturday night started off with 15000won all you can drink for an hour at nu bar...need i say more. Considering we are all on christmas budgets we most defiantly got our moneys worth. Derek is a bad influence on me and i wonder what my life in seoul would be like without him...most likely it would be lacking the extreme entertainment he provides me at work and on our nights out. This picture is an example of the ridiculous things derek somehow convinces me to do...

Saturday morning derek and i had to wake up super early and head to a foreign teacher seminar, once we finally put our complaining aside about being up at such a ridiculous hour we started to really appreciate the speakers. The seminar defiantly made me realize how lucky i am to go to work everyday and get the greatest hugs from the most adorable babies!

Flint and Andrew really appreciated my new hair clip and had to try it on for themselves...
Ive been teaching my babies about daily activities and have found that they much prefer playing games than reading...annnnnd it provides me with great entertainment hehe

Derek and i were told to leave our classes to join our staff to celebrate our directors birthday. While derek and i enjoyed cake with our staff we ignored the screams and running footsteps coming from my class...

Seoraksan!

Last weekend a group of us ventured 3 hours outside of seoul into the countryside to take the challenge of hiking Seoraksan mountain. It felt amazing to get away from the city for a bit and breathe in fresh air. Waking up at 5am was well worth it, the view was amazing and i will forever remember the experience...and so will my legs!

always making some time for makali!

Last week was seoul's lantern festival along the cheonggyecheon. The lanterns we're incrediable and lit up the city!
