insadong

kristin and i spent saturday evening in our friend lad's hometown which is roughly an hour away eating ridiculous amounts of korean dishes and soups with his friends. It was so nice to venture out of our neighborhoods and head up by the mountains. Lad, his friend Jordan, kristin and i were all suffering from our sins the night before so we had a lovely time eating and getting rid of our hangovers with more cass beer!
Monday was independence day in Korea which means  lots of celebrations...annnnd monday off work which was so needed. Kristin and i decided to take it easy so we headed over to insadong for delicious tea and yummy food! it turned out be a much needed relaxing day off!

The "old tea shop" in insadong is a tiny korean style tea shop hidden away in hundreds of winding streets of insadong. I use to come to this tea shop almost everyday when i visited my sister over three years ago, it is still one of my favorite hide-outs in seoul! where else can you find tables with fish inside them as well as in the floor of the bathroom and birds flying around the store?????

The result of lad and jordan's origami competition...
